Las Vegas Revenue and Hotel Performance

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Strip gaming revenue reached $807.8 million in May. Baccarat accounted for the primary increase, generating $174.3 million, a 59% rise from the previous year. The state's overall gaming pace remains 2.7% above last year's level. Hotel metrics on the Strip showed a 2% increase in occupancy, a 6% rise in average daily rates, and a 10% growth in revenue per available room.

Air Traffic and Reno Market Data

Passenger volume declined at Harry Reid International Airport, which processed 4.5 million travelers in May, an 8% decrease year-over-year. Year-to-date traffic stands 6% below last year, with international arrivals down 12%. Reno's gaming revenue reached $70.5 million, an 11% annual increase that marks the strongest fiscal performance among Nevada's major markets.

Reno Tourism and Convention Growth

Reno-Tahoe International Airport recorded spring passenger counts at their highest levels in nearly two decades. Carriers added approximately 45,000 roundtrip seats compared to the previous summer to accommodate demand. Convention and group bookings increased 14% year-to-date through April, while April taxable room revenue reached $52.6 million, a new monthly record. May visitor numbers grew 17% and taxable room revenue rose 27%. First quarter taxable room revenue set a market record at $106 million. Mike Larragueta, president and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe, noted that tourism continues to function as a primary economic driver for the region.
