Google will implement new verification rules for gambling advertisements across its platform on September 14, 2026. The update shifts certification from a single approval to a continuous compliance review.
Policy and Verification Changes
Under the new system, advertisers must maintain a consistent policy adherence record to retain gambling ad status. Agencies operating through Manager Accounts face additional oversight, as repeated violations in a single client account can remove certification for the entire network. Google reserves the right to revoke previously issued certificates based on these checks. The platform will also apply updated domain verification standards. Advertisers must use owned domains instead of borrowed addresses or free subdomains created for gambling campaigns. These requirements will take effect for all gambling ad accounts on the specified date.
