Betsson has finalized its acquisition of Rhino Entertainment this month, securing entry into Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming sector. The transaction transfers Rhino’s Canadian consumer-facing operations to the Swedish group.
Operational Transfer and Licensing
The agreement covers Rhino’s entire Canadian B2C division, including all associated licenses, staff, and technical infrastructure. Central to the transfer is the Casino Days platform, which already holds active regulatory approvals for both Ontario and Alberta.Alberta introduced its dedicated iGaming framework earlier this year, allowing licensed operators to launch digital casino and sports betting services. By integrating Rhino’s existing provincial permits, Betsson begins commercial activities immediately.
The acquisition was first disclosed in March, with the final transfer of assets and personnel completed this month.
